Powers Brown ArchitectureBrad Burton observed the original construction of 10550 Westpark Drive in 1976, and for more than two decades, drove by envisioning its potential. The property served as administrative offices, commissary and warehouse for Los Tios Mexican Restaurants, a Tex-Mex food chain founded in 1970 by Tom and Rosemary Garbett. To ensure uniformity in salsas and queso production, Mrs. Garbett ran a commercial kitchen at the location. She sold the chain in 2000; the commissary closed in 2006. In 2009, Burton made a move to purchase the building and begin renovations. The project involved the rehabilitation and re-purposing of the restaurants’ commissary and administrative offices into a 15,000-square-foot office building and warehouse.
